La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+: instant calm and glass skin
Rating 4.5/5: my moisturiser morning and night

I already mentioned Cicaplast in my rosacea routine as my safe choice when my skin is irritated. Lately I've been using it every day, so it's time for a proper review.
What the brand says
- An ultra-repairing, soothing balm for irritated or damaged skin, for adults, children and babies.
- 5 % panthenol (vitamin B5) and madecassoside, which soothe the skin and support its repair.
- Tribioma, a complex from the Microbiome Science line that supports the balance of the skin's microbiome, with La Roche-Posay thermal spring water.
- Fragrance-free.
My experience
Instant calm. As soon as I apply it, my sensitive rosacea skin calms down. That's what matters most to me: no stinging, no flushing, it simply settles.
Glass skin. It really gives that glass skin effect. My skin looks smooth, hydrated and dewy, as if it's healthy from within.
Lately I've been using it as my face moisturiser, morning and night. I haven't needed any other cream alongside it.
The downside. The balm is occlusive and forms a protective layer on the skin. That works for me, but if your skin is acne-prone, it may cause breakouts.
Who is it for
For sensitive, reactive skin and rosacea that needs quick calming and barrier repair. If your skin is acne-prone, be careful because of the occlusiveness, or use it only on dry and irritated areas. Hence 4.5/5, but for my skin it's currently one of the best moisturisers.

Frequently asked questions
Is Cicaplast Baume B5+ good for rosacea?
For me it's excellent: it instantly calms my sensitive skin with rosacea. The brand recommends it for irritated and damaged skin, and rosacea is always worth following with a dermatologist too.
Can Cicaplast Baume B5+ be used as a face moisturiser?
Yes. Lately I've been using it as my moisturiser morning and night, and my skin looks smooth and dewy, with a glass skin effect.
Can Cicaplast Baume B5+ cause breakouts?
It can if your skin is acne-prone. The balm is occlusive, meaning it forms a protective layer on the skin, so for some people it can clog pores.
