Bioderma Photoderm AR SPF 50+: some coverage, but it didn't calm my redness
Rating 3/5: some coverage, so it's OK

Bioderma Photoderm AR is a tinted SPF 50+ made specifically for redness and rosacea, and it recently arrived in new packaging as Ultra-Fluid AR+. Perfect for me on paper, only OK in practice.
What the brand says
- Very high UVA and UVB protection (SPF 50+) with Sun Active Defense technology and antioxidants.
- The patented Rosactiv™ complex targets one of the causes of redness; according to its own study, the brand reports reduced visible redness in 96 % of users.
- A natural tint that evens out the complexion.
- For sensitive skin prone to redness and rosacea; fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and water-resistant.
My experience
I'm not very happy with how it spreads: it doesn't glide over the skin like my favourites. It's also a chemical SPF, and chemical filters generally don't suit my rosacea skin.
Ironically, for an anti-redness product, it seemed to cause redness. What saves it is the coverage: it covers something, so the rating is OK.
For comparison, Bioderma's mineral SPF from the same line ended up at the bottom of my mineral SPF ranking, and my favourite remains Babé mineral SPF.
Who is it for
For redness-prone skin that tolerates chemical filters well and wants an SPF with light coverage. If your rosacea reacts to chemical filters, skip it.
